Submission Guidelines for Authors & Illustrators
We're sorry but we have withdrawn our call for submissions for the rest of this year. Please check our web site at the end of 2008 for updates, and submission guidelines.
Picture Books:
Material suitable for children ages 4-10. Fiction: adventure, animal, concept, fantasy, folktales, humor, nature/environment. Nonfiction: animal, concept, historical, nature/environment. Full manuscript only. Please send hard copy. No diskettes or CD´s accepted. No queries please.
Chapter Books:
Material suitable for children ages 6-12. Fiction: adventure, animal, concept, fantasy, folktales, humor, nature/environment. Nonfiction: animal, concept, historical, nature/environment, humor. Full manuscript only. Please send hard copy. No diskettes or CD´s accepted. No queries please.
Authors: Please include a full manuscript and cover letter with contact information. Submit only one manuscript at a time-preferably your best. Include a SASE with sufficient postage if your want a reply and your work returned. If your return envelope is not the proper size or does not include sufficient postage your work will be recycled. Please be sure to write your return address on the top left-hand corner of the envelope, as the post office will not accept mail without one.
Illustrators/Photographers: Please send a range of full-color samples or high quality color copies of your work. Include cover letter and contact information with your submission. Photographers are assignment work only. Be sure to include a SASE of proper size and with sufficient postage if you want your samples returned if they do not meet our needs. All samples not returned are kept on file for future reference.
WE DO NOT ACCEPT QUERIES/SUBMISSIONS VIA E-MAIL. We do not open e-mail attachments. Please keep a copy of your work.
We will not be responsible for returning unsolicited or solicited material that does not include a SASE of proper size and with sufficient postage. Please note: one $.42 stamp will only be sufficient for a two-page manuscript with our reply letter included.
